Pilates Half

Is Pilates for me?
The intital purpose of Pilates was to strengthen both body and mind. The thought was the physical and mental health are linked together .
Nowadays there are pilates classes all over the world . A major goal of these pilates classes are to strengthen the body . More specifically people use these exercises to develop a strong core . Many people enjoy pilates for different objectives .
There are six principles of pilates originally . They range from center, concentration, breathing, flow, precision, and control. The many pilates classes offered through out the world may be slightly different ,but all focus on the same principles . The major focus of pilates excersises is the center of the body .To attain control of the body it needs to have a starting place .
Preachers of pilates refer to certain parts of our body known as the Power House . The powerhouse consists of many body parts , the upper and lower back, also the abdominal area ,hips, inner thighs, and the buttocks.
The thought of concentration is just that. Someone doing pilates must concentrate on what they are doing. Running through the motions , regardless of experience , just doesn't cut it . The concentration is meant to be done for the whole body. Breathing is one area in which the instructor of the pilates class would assist people performing especially for the first time. The out and in breathing should occur as a conscious movement .
The idea of flow is used to describe the actions and movements of pilates. The moments should look smooth and fluid, not at all straight and tense . Whilst making the movements fluid, this helps in building up strength and stamina. In pilates technique is cruical . The movements must be exact in order to otbain the maximum benefit of the exercise. Doing pilates correctly with fluid movements and using the correct technique will result in double the result of a "half baked quick fix and go effort" . In time the movements become part of the routine . The control you will start to feel in time with pilates is giving your powerhouse excellent muscle control. This alone makes pilates classes invaluable .

Would it be more benificial to sleep for an extra half an hour in the morning or do pilates?
I work in a cut flower nursery and work VERY hard, I start work at 7am and usually get up at 6:15am.
I was wondering if I should get up half an hour early and do my pilates dvd or should I take the extra half an hour of sleep? I eat well and get heaps of excrcise at work, I just dont want to burn myself out by getting less sleep.
Im not sure which way to go, im tired at the end of the day as it is!
I go to bed between 9:30pm and 10pm and I never hear my alarm!
It partly depends on what time you go to sleep. If you are already getting 8 hours of sleep a night then by all means wake up earlier and get some exercise. You will find after a short time you will have more energy thoughout the day and will probably be less tired at the end of your work day. Newer more comprehensive studies have shown that you shouldn't really get more than 7 1/2 hours of sleep anyways. 8 hours of sleep is excessive and can actually shorten your life. If you're only sleeping 6 to 7 hours a night then definately don't skip sleep to exercise you'll wear yourself out and possibly injur yourself after a while.
