activities to build strength for lax ligaments?
my sports med doctor says that i have physiological laxity. i've been doing aerials, but my major limiting factor is that i don't have the strength yet to back up the flexibility. i go to the gym 3x a week (mostly functional training). my trainer recommended that i look into yoga with more flow than i currently take. i've also been thinking about ballet or acro/gymnastics. any suggestions for other class-type activities that will help to build strength at the upper limits of range of motion? thanks!
Conventional weights and weight machines are good in that they provide a constant resistance. If you want more strength at the end of the range of motion, then you should consider equipment which gives higher resistance near the limit of muscle contraction.
