What is a contact sport of injuries do not happen every now and then? Unfortunatelywhen people play contact sportsthe chances of having an injury in a single game are quite high. There is no doubt that players are cautious during playing but they can only do so much especially if they are being pummeled by an opposing team.

At leastthe athlete can be assured of pain relief as well as physical therapy. In physical therapythe athlete is given a coach of some sort to ensure that he or she recovers fully from the injuries he or she has. If there are ankle injuries then the physical therapy would pretty much focus on ankle therapy as well as ankle support.
According to athletes who have gone through injuries and physical therapyit is during the physical therapy phase where the athlete is tried and tested. Of course this is the phase where the person conducting physical therapy or the 'therapist' can provide the crucial answer as to whether or not the athlete plays again.
Since the therapist holds the cars to the athletes playing futureit becomes a challenge to the injured athlete to make sure that he or she does well during physical therapy. It is through the performance of the athlete in physical therapy that the capacity of the athlete to play again is determined. If the athlete refuses to cooperate well during physical therapyand provides poor performance and development chances are that the person in charge of the athlete's physical therapy phase may deem him or her unfit to return.
Howeverif the athlete performs extremely well during physical therapythen there is no reason for the therapist to suggest to managers and coaches that the athlete can no longer participate to the top of his or her potential. It is truehoweverthat over the years there have been a number of athletes who have proved therapists wrong by performing well despite the poor physical therapy reports.
In every team or companythere is always a somebody who is in charge of physical therapy. This goes to show how physical therapy plays a huge part in sports despite its obvious medical field.

Is it time to take my ankle brace off?
Over a month ago I sprained my ankle 3 times withing a week and a half. It's been swollen and painful, so I've been wearing an ankle brace. It still hurts a little, but the ankle is now almost the size of my uninjured one. I know wearing a brae for too long can weaken it further. Does it sound like it's time to take the brace off?
I would wear the brace for one more week. It doesn't sound like much but it will help. After that week you should be able to take it off.
